Essendon v Richmond

Answering stat queries on twitter at 1:30am, because I can.

For the record…

Essendon turned the ball over 47 times in its defensive half, which is three more than have ever been recorded (has only been measured since 2007). Next five most are:

  • 44 - GWS v Frem R17 2012
  • 44 - GWS v Rich R12 2012
  • 43 - Port v Coll R20 2011
  • 41 - GWS v NM R2 2012
  • 41 - Frem v Ha R19 2011

The Bombers finished with a kicking efficiency of 55.0%, which is their second worst for the year (who could forget that Swans game??? - 54.8%). At one stage they were tracking at 53%, which could have been an all-time club low (since Champion Data started recording official statistics in 1999). The current low (and only match lower than the Swans debacle in Round 11) was 53.8% against West Coast in Round 4 2010.

You’re welcome.
